Luigi and Alessandra’s Destination Wedding in Italy “The Dream”
Luigi and Alessandra came to me with the word DREAM as their theme, they explained that when they are together they feel like they are living in a dream; a fantasyland that they never want to wake-up from. So we took their idea and turned it into a reality for their guests to live the dream with them. The location the bride and groom choose was an all white beach club. It was like a blank canvas, allowing us to paint our vision.
We romanticized the location with lush fabrics, grand carpets and soft tones of blushes and creams for the flowers. But most of all it came to life when people first walked in. The sun gleaming on an angel in the distance swinging in the summer air; just as Luigi told us of his dream when he first met Alessandra. Guests were drawn to the plexy-glass frames telling Luigi’s love-story while guiding them to their first stop the “Photobooth” where all guests were asked to pose for their glamour shot. Then, to cocktails, where they found a massive Floral tree that gleamed with swarovski crystals and personalized dream catchers to help guests find their seat.
Wine expert Daniele Mazzella, our Sommelier gave an exclusive taste of fine wines to enhance our culinary experience. Each course was paired with the best selection of Italian wines and an explanation on why to pair specific wines with each entrée. When Daniele pairs a wine with a dish it is like they sing together!
During dinner, we had a little surprise for all of the Italian Music lovers. Two very famous Italian Singers of all-time, Dodi Battaglia and Ricardo Fogli just happened to stop by to sing “Alessandra,” a song dedicated to the bride by her father.
As the dreamy “day” became “night” we created a Fantasyland of Gold, Black, White and Silver to transport guests once again to a place of decadence. Lit butterfly ballerinas on stilts, a human after-dinner drink table, sparklers, mouthwatering desserts and fireworks ended the night for guests who left wondering if it was all real… or just a “dream!”
