New York Times Travel Show 2013

When Divine Amalfi Villas,’ Jennifer Galletti and Pasquale De Martino asked us to design their booth for the New York Times 2013 Travel Show, we automatically thought of recreating a piece of the Amalfi Coast in this 10′ by 10′ space. We wanted visitors to see, smell and enjoy a few minutes in Italy. Check out how we designed the booth that caught everyones attention!

Divine Amalfi Villas is a tour company based in the Sorrento region of Italy and is owned by two of the warmest and friendliest people we know. Jennifer and Pasquale’s fun loving attitude allowed us to be very creative with the design process. We knew that the two would love to get people’s attention with a great laugh. So, we “HUNG OUR DRAWS ON THE LINE,” literally!

The design began with four major elements Jennifer and Pasquale wanted in their booth. Find out how we incorporated each important element into the design…

1. Demonstrate what the company offers: Villa Rentals and Private Chefs, Events, Cooking and Italian Classes, Geneology, Private Charters, Transportation, Excursions and many more.

  • By hanging hand painted description signs with key words: Events, Geneology, Weddings, Cooking Classes etc. We were able to capture a variety of services Divine Amalfi offers.

2. Showcase their “True life of an Italian” approach to an Italian vacation.

  • Everyone who came to the booth heard about how Jennifer could reserve the perfect villa for them, which is less expensive than staying at a hotel. While Pasquale takes guests on his private boat and then teaches them to cook whatever they catch. Previous guests have learned Italian, how to make and bottle wine and Limoncello and some even found out about their family history.

3. Give something away to be remember by.

  • We created a photo booth so that visitors could begin their Italian experience with a photograph of what their next vacation could be. Our good friend Tony Riccio (vocalist and photographer) instantly printed photographs for each group. Tony was asked to sing on the Europe Stage to represent Divine Amalfi. He was wonderful.

4. Experience the feeling of “family.”

  • Whomever stopped by the booth, whether Travel Agent or General Public, noticed the family appeal. This tour company is personal. They treat you like a close friend or family member coming to visit. Each guest is special to them. The booth and personal appeal each staff member had showcased the same approach Jennifer and Pasquale have when traveling with Divine Amalfi to Italy.
